Job Title: Research Investigator II, Histopathology
Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the conception, implementation and interpretation of immunohistochemistry and histology-based studies to guide the development of new drugs to treat human cancers. Key areas of research involve target assessment, evaluating target expression data, biomarker development (to monitor drug efficacy) and patient stratification strategies (to identify the most appropriate patient population in which to conduct the first clinical studies).

Essential Job Functions:

Plan and supervise multiple research projects within an experimental pathology group. In collaboration with other scientists and project teams, develop experimental plans to probe expression of specific proteins in normal and tumor tissues and design assays to support the development of target modulation readouts and patient stratification strategies. Assign, direct, and evaluate the work of research associates within the group. Prepare and review written reports summarizing findings. Routinely present research results to colleagues.

Qualifications:

Candidate should possess a Ph.D, have a background in cancer histopathology as well as experience in translational research, and have completed postdoctoral work and have up to 5 years of related experience. Broad knowledge of histological techniques and their application to analyze protein expression in normal and tumor samples is necessary. Experience with state of the art experimental pathology-related techniques, and ability to apply these techniques to drug discovery an asset. Demonstrated leadership and technical skills, including knowledge of protocols, scientific methods and their applications, and use of specialized equipment required.
