Job description
The IBM T.J. Watson Research Center at Hawthorne, NY is currently seeking a Post Doctoral Researcher with experience in Virtualization and image management and Hybrid Computing.

The hired candidate will help develop the foundation for next generation virtual machine image management technology. They will: Help create (1) file-based representation for dormant images; (2) use/develop tools for converting it to a disk-based representation when an image is deployed for execution. Help develop subsystem to support file-level operation (e.g. image search, filesystem mount, update/patch, package install, version control, security scan) that work directly on dormant images. Help develop new generation networking technology

Work with Hybrid Computing may also include: Developing technologies to identify and offload intensive computation components or workloads for acceleration; providing a substantial advantage to selected workloads and potentially achieving better overall system performance. Key skills and experiences include operating systems, hypervisors, networking, JVM, JNI, middleware, and C++ and Java programming, etc.

Work with networking may also include scientific advances in network science, developments in information networks, MANETs, and sensor networks.

Required
PhD's Degree
English: Basic knowledge

Preferred
Doctorate Degree in Computer Science, Cpomputer Engineering, Mathematics
At least 3 years experience in Distributed middleware
At least 3 years experience in Fault Tolerance and Dependability
At least 3 years experience in Distributed systems
At least 3 years experience in Network-hosted application services
At least 3 years experience in Service-oriented architecture
