GENERAL SUMMARY:
The National Resource for Imaging Mass Spectrometry (NRIMS, www.nrims.hms.harvard.edu) is looking for an operator of a novel type of secondary ion mass spectrometer, the Cameca NanoSIMS 50L. NRIMS is part of Brigham and Women's Hospital, an affiliated hospital of Harvard Medical School, and is an affiliated core laboratory of the Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform daily instrument set-up and sample analysis
- Help troubleshoot equipment issues
- Maintain logs of all activities associated with the instrument, including routine operation, maintenance, repairs and modifications
- Maintain data logbooks

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
- At least a B.S. degree, preferably in physical science or electrical engineering
- Experience with SEM/TEM may be useful
- Experience with ultra-high vacuums or mass spectrometry
- Extreme attention to detail
- Long-term commitment, 3 years min
