Job Title: Postdoctoral position to study bacterial protein toxins
Description:

An NIH-supported post-doctoral position is available immediately for a recent Ph.D. graduate in microbiology, cell biology, or a related field to study interactions between bacterial protein toxins and eukaryotic cells. Applicants should have experience working in BSL2 (or higher).

We investigate interactions between pathogenic bacteria and their hosts, emphasizing protein toxins. Current studies focus on toxins produced by Clostridium perfringens and Helicobacter pylori and suspected toxins from other pathogenic bacteria. Using high-throughput screens and molecular genetic, biochemical, and cell biological techniques, we seek to understand the molecular events that contribute to toxin activity and to develop inhibitors to treat disease.
