UMBC's Computer Science and Electrical Engineering Department is seeking applications for tenure-track Assistant and Associate Professor positions in Computer Engineering. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline. The successful candidate is expected to establish a strong research program in his/her area of interest and to teach both graduate and undergraduate courses in Computer Engineering.

The CSEE department is a research-oriented combined Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and Electrical Engineering department, with 38 full time faculty. The department has 800 undergraduates, 211 MS students, and 118 PhD students and had 6 million dollars in research expenditures in FY 09. UMBC is strategically located in the Baltimore-Washington corridor, and is close to many important federal agencies.
