Brief Description: The Computer Aided Design and Information Technology Laboratory in the Department of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering, Seoul National University, Seoul, Korea has immediate openings for PhD Candidate/Research Associate in the area of 'Product Lifecycle Management'. We are looking for a self-motivated individual who has significant experience in researching problems in the areas of ‘Product Lifecycle Management’, ‘CAD/CAM’, and ‘Ship Production Management’.

The successful candidate will work with a group of faculty and motivated graduate students on a large government and industry funded project designing and developing quality algorithms and schemes for ‘Development of Bill of Materials (BOM) Kernel of Product Lifecycle Management Model for Shipbuilding Industries’. Interaction with faculty and graduate students, academia and industry and publication in scientific conferences and journals is strongly encouraged.

Desired Qualifications:

For PhD Candidate Position: A Master’s Degree in CAD/CAM, or Ship Design/Production, Ocean Engineering, or a related field. A good knowledge of at least one programming language is required.

For Research Associate Position: A PhD in CAD/CAM, or Ship Production Management, or Industrial Management, or a related field. A good knowledge of at least one programming language is required.

Salary and Benefits: Highly competitive salary plus accommodation and other benefits. Position is renewable up to 3/4/5 years subject to yearly evaluation.
