Job Title: Membrane Trafficking in Mammalian Cells, Dr. Roberto Weigert
Description:

The research interests of this lab are focused in understanding the role of membrane trafficking in various physio-pathological events with a particular emphasis on salivary glands and oral cancer.

Current projects focus on unraveling the molecular machinery regulating: 1) protein sorting and secretion, and endocytosis in the salivary glands; 2) cell invasion and metastasis in oral cancer.

Research work integrates various approaches which include primarily intra-vital multi-photon microscopy on mice and rats models coupled to molecular biology and biochemistry.

Successful candidates should have a Ph.D. and less than 2 years of postdoctoral training. A background in molecular and cell biology, fluorescence microscopy, and general membrane biology is preferred.
