Job Title: Risk Analytics Supervisor
Description:

Our client is looking to add a Supervisor of Analytics to their Risk Management/Analytics team in New York. This role will perform two functions: oversight of routine production of analytical information; and original analysis of risk-related issues. The production function involves among other things overseeing the New York analytics team consisting of two other individuals. This team is responsible for daily production of all security, portfolio and benchmark analytics in the firm’s global risk systems, specifically for municipal, tax efficient and money market securities and portfolios. In addition, the New York analytics team develops and produces risk reports that assist the risk and portfolio management staff in assessing portfolio risk exposures. The Supervisor will also take on original analysis projects in order to further the risk and portfolio management efforts at the firm, particularly where related to the municipal, tax efficient, money market, and insurance-oriented portfolios that are managed in New York. They are looking for an individual who is a proven leader, has a keen understanding of the financial markets and possesses strong operational, technical and analytics/risk management experience. The Supervisor must display a positive and action-oriented attitude and ensure that the group is efficient, motivated and appropriately staffed.

Responsibilities include:

Work proactively with the portfolio management teams to identify risk related information required to assist in the portfolio management effort Perform original analysis, both quantitative and qualitative, of risk issues related to municipal, money market, and other insurance oriented portfolios and strategies. These analysis may be requested by PMs or by other member of the risk mgmt group. Identify risk issues arising from the portfolios managed; analyze these issues; escalate to personnel such as the chief risk officer when appropriate; Oversee analytics production morning processes Interface with and support several of the firm's major proprietary and vendor related systems and applications Interface across departments to resolve any issues as they pertain to analytics and data integrity; Work closely with other areas of the firm to accurately and efficiently disseminate analytics information. Train, coach and mentor staff members; formally review staff semi-annually.

Qualifications include:

Ten years or more experience in analysis of fixed income securities Demonstrated knowledge of fixed income instruments (debt, warrants, options, futures, OTC derivatives, etc) and financial markets across various countries and currencies.
Strong knowledge of municipal, money market, and insurance-oriented portfolio management strategies and benchmarks a plus;
Strong technological acumen; advanced Excel, Access queries, SQL, and working knowledge of Bloomberg API Knowledge of vendor risk systems (Point, Yieldbook) a plus; Ability to motivate and mentor a team
