A postdoctoral position is available to study mechanisms of CNS tissue injury and repair in neuroimmunological diseases, especially multiple sclerosis (MS). Current projects in the laboratory study (1) the role of NK cells and IL-2/IL-2R system in the immunoregulation between innate and adaptive immune responses; (2) the intrathecal immune responses to CNS autoantigens; and (3) the effector functions (those that promote tissue destruction but also those that may have neuroprotective role) of the intrathecal immune cells in patients with neuroimmunological diseases.
