The Xerox Innovation Group is seeking highly qualified and experienced professionals with strong technical background and research experience to immediately fill senior positions as Sr. Scientists/Research Managers at our new India Innovation Hub, based in Chennai, India.

With a heritage rooted in innovation, and a host of universally acclaimed inventions to our credit, the Xerox Innovation Group conducts research and technology development in a broad spectrum of areas including color science, digital imaging, nanotechnology, materials, linguistics, work practice analysis and computing at our research centers around the world.


The selected candidate will:

Drive the technical activities of the area he/she leads working extensively with Open Innovation partners

Guide a team of highly skilled and motivated researchers while continuing tobe an individual research contributor.

Work closely with the director of the Hub in developing and implementing the research strategy for the hub in line with the high level strategies of the corporation and interface closely with researchers and program managers across Xerox global research labs.

Drive and ensure intellectual property generation including patent disclosures, technical papers and scientific advancements.

The candidate will provide first line management support and handle all human resource activities for his/her technical area including hiring and Balanced Work Force (BWF) objectives, performance evaluation, training, skill development, and salary management.


The ideal candidate for the Sr. Scientist/Research Manager will have:
• PhD degree in Computer Science, engineering or related disciplines, from a leading academic institution
• Sound technical expertise and research experience in one or more of the following areas: distributed systems, web based systems, grid/cloud computing, mobile systems and applications, web services delivery, services sciences and engineering, knowledge engineering and technologies for emerging markets
• Strong track record of publications and patents and sound standing in the academic community
• Approximateley 10 years of experience in a recongnized Research organization or academic institution, leading research and technology development activities.
• Proven people management skills
• Sound project management and communication skills
• High energy, passion and aptitude to guide strategic research initiatives from inception to maturity
• Prior experience in the document services industry preferred
