We are seeking postdoctoral researchers from biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, or computer science to develop new biomedical imaging methods within the biomedical imaging group at Case Western Reserve University. Applications use MRI, OCT, radionuclide, and cryo-imaging. Our group has recently created a whole mouse cryo-imaging system which gives 100+GB, micron-scale images of a whole mouse with single cell sensitivity for fluorescently labeled cells. There are a multitude of exciting new applications in stem cells, cancer, nano-drug delivery, assessment of disease, and quantitative image quality. We are faced with a multitude of image processing, analysis, and visualization problems. For example, we have recently created a multi-scale viewing program which allows us to view the entire data set on the screen and zoom down to even a single cell. Persons will be expected to publish papers and assist on research proposals. We are principally seeking post doctoral researchers with a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, or computer science. Experience with image analysis, animal experiments, optical imaging, and/or medical imaging technologies are a plus. However, we will consider very strong, determined candidates with other PhD training who want to learn about these important new technologies.

Our laboratory is in the Departments of Biomedical Engineering and Radiology at Case Western Reserve University. We perform experiments in the state-of-the-art Case Small Animal Imaging Resource Center which houses MRI, PET, optical, CT, and SPECT imaging devices.
