The Division of Physical Science and Engineering at the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) invites applications for PhD positions in theoretical condensed matter physics. These positions are full-time.

The research interest area includes:
- Spin-related phenomena in nanoscale devices (metals, semiconductor and organic)
- Magnetic noise and ultrafast magnetization dynamics
- Energy conversion between spin and charge currents

The successful candidate will pursue numerical and analytical research on the above mentioned topics. The applicant’s creativity will be highly appreciated and strong interactions with theoretical and experimental groups in the Division and abroad are expected. Outstanding academic and research backgrounds as well as good communication skills are required.

A MSc degree in Physics or Materials Science is required. Self-motivated, and capable of quickly developing new skills, the application will have a demonstrable aptitude for learning fast and involving him/herself in new theoretical techniques.
