My client’s smart order routing team is responsible for smart order routing and internalization services for the firm, handling over 1 million orders a day that represent over 2 billion shares a day entering the marketplace. Their infrastructure uses fast order execution using connections to all available exchanges in a given market. In addition, this new project has expanded to include new "private" sources of liquidity, which enhance the liquidity in the public marketplace with new sources from our partner firms that are only available to them. Currently they are expanding their infrastructure to handle an ever-growing demand. Their system currently smart-routes equities and US listed options, and also provides ticketing services in the US, Europe, and Asia.

It is a high-speed C++ distributed system running on Linux (with monitoring and support tools in C# and C++) that is always under expansion with new development in the form of enhancements and new projects. Their processing volumes have increased tremendously over the past year, and their related projects ensure a dynamic and busy working environment.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Design, develop, and support new functionality for smart routing / internal crossing.
-Maintain existing functionality in live and fast-changing environment.
-Maintain / Create support tools in C#.NET and C++ for complicated Unix/Linux applications.


EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

Required:
-Strong object oriented C++ background in distributed real-time systems on high-end Unix/Linux platforms.
-Capable of interacting with both technical and business colleagues.
-Network programming.
-Excellent analytical skills required.
-Three to seven years of experience.

Preferred:
-scripting Language Knowledge (PERL / ksh / awk).
-windows MFC (collection classes only).
-Suitable background would be in Computer Science or Math.
