Department of Computing and Decision Sciences

The Department of Computing and Decision Sciences (http://cptra.LN.edu.hk) is one of the constituent departments that contribute to the undergraduate programme of the Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons) degree. The Department also plays an important role to support the teaching of Executive MBA and Associate Degree Programmes for the University. The Department is responsible for offering the following subjects to students, in particular, those taking the Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons) degree: (a) Information Systems (including Forensics); (b) Operations Management; and (c) Applied Statistics and Mathematics.

Applicants should have teaching and research experience in two or more of the following areas: Information Systems, Forensics, Operations Management, Management Science and Statistics. Preference will be given to the Information Systems area.

Applicants should have a current and substantial research record and teaching experience with significant scholarly publications in leading journals and academic achievements.

Applicants are required to provide information on their research records and evidence of quality teaching. Excellent communication and presentation skills are essential. Administrative experience will be an advantage. The successful appointees are expected to have a strong commitment to teaching excellence and services to the Department, the University and the community, and to engage actively in quality research and publication.

Conditions of Appointment:
The monthly salary will be around HK$75,500 to HK$101,400 (approximate exchange rate: US$1.- = HK$7.8.-). The remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, mandatory provident fund, gratuity, housing benefits and incoming passage and baggage allowance for eligible appointee.

Appointment will normally be made on an initial fixed-term contract of three years, renewable subject to mutual agreement. After appointment, accelerated substantiation may be exceptionally considered in the case of appointees with outstanding performance and ability.
