Professor / Associate Professor / Assistant Professor (Post: Ref. 09/174/P) Department of Marketing and International Business
The Department (http://www.LN.edu.hk/mkt/) has a team of staff members with international background, who are congenial, collaborative and dedicated to excellence in teaching and research. It offers a wide spectrum of courses for the marketing stream of the Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons) degree programme, which is designed to equip the students with a foundation of business operations, and a full understanding of contemporary concepts and practices in marketing and international business.
The appointee is expected to teach courses in Marketing and International Business and conduct research for publication in quality refereed journals. Areas of teaching specialization include Marketing Research, Sales Management, Retailing and Distribution Management, International Marketing Management, Services Marketing, Marketing Strategies, Consumer Behaviour, etc.
All applicants should have a PhD degree in the relevant discipline with relevant teaching experience and a good research record. For appointment as a Professor, applicants should have substantial research and teaching experience with significant scholarly publications and academic achievements. For appointment as an Associate Professor, applicants should have at least five years of relevant experience and a sound track record in research and scholarly activities.
Applicants are required to provide information on their research records and evidence of quality teaching. Excellent communication and presentation skills are essential. Administrative experience will be a distinct advantage. The successful appointee is expected to have a strong commitment to teaching excellence and services to the Department and the University community, and to engage actively in quality research and publication.
Conditions of Appointment: The monthly salary ranges are as follows: Professor – around HK$75,500.- to HK$101,400.-; Associate Professor – around HK$61,600.- to HK$81,200.-; Assistant Professor – around HK$45,300.- to HK$71,400.- (approximate exchange rate: US$1.- = HK$7.8.-). The rank and remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, mandatory provident fund, gratuity, housing benefits and incoming passage and baggage allowance for the eligible appointee.
Appointment will normally be made on an initial fixed-term contract of three years, renewable subject to mutual agreement. After appointment, for those appointed at the rank of Associate Professor or above, accelerated substantiation may be exceptionally considered in the case of appointees with outstanding performance and ability. Appointments may also be made on a visiting basis (including Visiting Scholar) at all ranks on a short-term contract.
