The proposed work will be a part of a long duration multinational European Space Agency project “Interaction in Cosmic and Atmospheric Particulate Systems” (ICAPS) assigned for the International Space Station.

The Microgravity Research Center (MRC), Department of Applied Sciences at Université Libre de Bruxelles (Brussels, Belgium) invites applications for a full time 1 to 3 years Post Doctoral position. The successful candidate will participate R&D works related to the development of the thermophoretic trap and investigation of dust cloud processes in microgravity conditions including all stages from analysis and simulation of solid microscopic particle motion to experimental set-up building, measurements, data evaluation, paper writing and engineering reporting. Applicants must have a PhD in physics or related area. We are looking for enthusiastic candidates to work in the areas of fluid mechanics of dispersed systems and aerosol physics. Experience in experimentation, programming, basic engineering skills and knowledge of English are appreciated.
The starting date for the position can be as early as 1 January, 2010
