We are a research group in an international university in Japan (https://groups.oist.jp/emssu). We are looking for an experienced postdoctoral researcher in the field of organic solar cell device fabrication/ characterization. Candidates with extensive research experience in organic solar cells (OSC) / organic photovoltaics (OPV) will be given preference. Candidates with experience in organic light emitting diodes (OLED) and organic field effect transistors (OFET) will be considered as well. The successful candidate will perform cutting edge research in a newly established lab including a class 1000/100 clean room equipped with a wide range of fabrication/characterization facility. First-rate shared institute facilities are also available including UV-Photolithography systems, e-Beam Lithography, FIB, various deposition and etching systems, HR-TEMs, SEMs, AFMs, XRFs, XPSs, XRD, Raman & FTIR Spectrometers, Physical properties measurement system and ellipsometers. The group has strong collaborations with international institutes (e.g. Princeton University) as well as industrial partners (e.g. Merck). Requirement: PhD in Experimental Physics, Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering. Research experience in organic solar cells (OSC) / organic photovoltaics (OPV) / organic light emitting diodes (OLED) / organic field effect transistors (OFET) will be highly desirable. Successful candidates will receive competitive salary and extensive benefits. Among many other benefits, housing allowance will be provided to cover up to 80% of the rent (max. housing allowance 60k Japanese Yen/month). A one-time generous relocation allowance will also be provided. The appointment is two years with possible renewals, contingent on satisfactory annual performance reviews. Prof. Jonathan Dorfan, an internationally recognized experimental physicist, has been selected as the President of the graduate university. As the former Director of SLAC at Stanford, he has extensive experience supporting research in particle physics and the broad range of physical, chemical and life sciences that form the diverse program of the X-ray science carried out at SLAC’s synchrotron source and its new X-ray laser.
