Position
The newly mandated Department of Business Technology Management (BTM) in the College of Business, Umm Al-Qura University, is widely believed to be the first and the only undergraduate Technology Management program in the whole Middle East and North Africa. The BTM department has Ten full-time faculty openings at all professorial ranks in all areas of business and technology management including Innovation Management, Technology Management, Knowledge Management, Telecommunications Management, Business Systems Analysis and Design, MIS, E-Business, Business Intelligence Systems, Management of Technological Disasters, Strategic Management, and related disciplines. Duties should include research and professional activities in related subject areas. Evidence of the ability to pursue an externally-funded independent research program and a strong commitment to quality teaching are required for each position. Successful candidates will be expected to teach courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Female faculty members will teach at the female-only campus of UQU. The language of instruction in the College of Business is English and applicants are expected to be fully conversant in English language.
Salary/Benefits
One-year renewable contract shall be offered with competitive tax-free salaries based on qualifications and experience. The appointment includes the following benefits according to the University’s policy: air tickets to Jeddah on appointment for applicant and up to three dependents; annual repatriation air tickets for up to four persons; housing allowance; local transportation allowance; two-month paid summer leave; about two to three weeks of paid leave each for Eid and Hajj; end-of-service gratuity. The UQU campus has a range of facilities including a medical and dental clinic, an extensive library, computing, research and teaching laboratory facilities, etc.
