Individuals with extraordinary records of intellectual and professional achievement sought to work as Product Managers within an ambitious, well-funded scientific research group based in New York City.
Product Managers at D. E. Shaw Research collaborate with world-class scientists and engineers to coordinate projects, including the development of specialized supercomputers, aimed at achieving major scientific advances in the fields of biochemistry and molecular biology. Featuring custom-designed hardware (including cutting-edge ASICs) and software, our Anton supercomputers significantly accelerate molecular dynamics simulations and are designed in part to fundamentally transform the process of drug discovery. Successful hires will also work closely with in-house computational chemists and biologists to define and deliver product features, and they will collaborate with our engineers and computer scientists to create and execute strategies for product development. In addition to more traditional product management duties, they will work independently and with senior management on a variety of strategic, risk-mitigation, and infrastructure projects.
Ideal candidates will have a background in engineering and/or computer science, as well as excellent communication skills and demonstrated leadership ability. At least two years of experience managing technical projects and/or interdisciplinary teams is a plus.
