Agilent Technologies, a global measurement company, is currently seeking to hire a self-motivated and enthusiastic scientist with past experience using LC/MS and GC/MS technologies. If hired, the applicant will become an integral part of Agilent's growing Diagnostics Mass Spec business. One of the key functions of this new position will entail working both independently and with key collaborators to create the technical content needed to support the commercialization of Agilent's Mass Spectrometry, SW, chromatography and other products in Agilent's Diagnostics portfolio. The hire will interact with Research and Development to provide critical input on future product development and collaborate with internal and external research on applications projects. They will also need to work with others in the department on outbound marketing efforts and with sales to provide strategic input on how to most effectively drive business development. Laboratory expertise in experimental design, sample prep, small molecule chromatography, and LC/MS is required.

Summary of Key Duties:

  • Hands on laboratory work to develop and document compelling application data in diagnostic applications, identification and validation with GC and LCMS
  • Provide critical input to product research and development around new products and applications.
  • Help build a diagnostics mass spectrometry applications center of excellence
  • Prepares and presents seminars to visiting VIP customers and provide Web based and in person training to customers.
  • Develops application based training materials for customers, field application engineers and product sales specialists in compliance with FDA and other State and Federal regulations.

Requires:
- BS/MS in Chemistry, Biochemistry or equivalent, and PhD preferred.
- 3+years experience laboratory experience in the field of biological Mass Spec and practical experience of MS, TOF, Trap and other LC/MS/MS technologies.
- Industrial experience specifically providing pre/post technical support for a sales organization or providing technical seminars to an audience is a plus.
- Strong project management experience and people management skills with a lab environment are highly desirable.
- Applicant must have a proven ability to provide technical feedback on LC/MS collaborations, projects, experiments and results.
- Strong communications and presentations skills and the ability to deliver compelling technical presentations
- Must be able to work in a cross functional team environment and possess excellent scientific writing and verbal communications skills.
- Travel Available for up to 25%.
