ADME-Tox Study Director

My client is an international provider of life science products and lab services to the pharmaceutical and biotech industries. They possess expertise in rapid detection, analytical and drug development services, and ADME-Tox in vitro technologies.  They are currently seeking a study director will be responsible for designing and coordinating scientifically valid in vitro drug metabolism studies in accordance with SOPs.  The position manages all phases of project management including clients and scientists.  This person will be expected to:

 

  • Manage and review QA department compliance audits and document control
  • Plays a central role in the design, conduct, interpretation, and reporting of contract studies
  • Implements studies by coordinating with biology and analytical chemists and other staff to ensure successful conduct of each study according to internationally acceptable standards and in accordance with relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) including initiation, conduct, completion and reporting
  • Acts as the primary contact with the Study Sponsor to ensure well-designed and executed studies that meet Sponsor needs and are executed within the allocated time frame
  • Interprets data and prepares reports that meet high scientific standards on time
  • Assesses current procedures to improve the efficiency, productivity and scientific standards of DS
  • Maintains a comprehensive knowledge of related scientific and technical areas, through liaison with scientific colleagues, reading scientific literature, and attending conferences.
  • Performs "failure analysis" when problems occur and then implements solutions to prevent reoccurrence
  • Serves as a general scientific consultant for clients, BDCs, and laboratory staff
  • Provides input on new scientific and technical directions to enhance DS's future capabilities and reputation
  • Leads R&D to establish new technologies/capabilities
  • Develops and conducts training programs for laboratory staff
  • Supports the Company Mission and implements corporate policies and procedures in a positive and constructive manner

 

Note: This position is located in Maryland and is a temporary position, lasting approximately 3 months

 

Must Have:

  • Ph.D. in pharmacology, pharmaceutical sciences, pharmacokinetics, toxicology, biology, or a relevant field
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of relevant experience
  • Excellent organizational, communication inter-functional and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent quantitative and writing skills
  • Client service oriented
  • Creative and proactive in nature
  • High degree of professionalism and work ethics
  • Ability to work well independently and on a team
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments, meets deadlines, and work well under pressure
  • Good understanding of compliance preferably GLP
  • Good knowledge of computer applications, including word-processing, spreadsheets, and appropriate statistical analysis
