The Nanotechnology Measurement Division of Agilent Technologies has recently acquired Till Photonics and expanded it's optical, fluorescence and atomic force microscopy portfolio for the applied research and life sciences markets. This has led to the creation of the following opportunity.

In a direct sales role, you will have overall responsibility for driving sales of Agilent Technologies' optical and fluorescence microscopy product line in the US and Europe initially and expanding into Japan and Asia. Working in concert with the team, you will use your excellent technical sales track record to focus on acquiring new customers while retaining and growing the existing installed base of customers. In this role, you will have the primary responsibility of driving a successful startup phase that meets or exceeds sales forecast expectations.

 

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have a BS or MS in Chemistry or a Life Sciences discipline, and at least 9+ years related direct sales experience selling optical microscopy, confocal, and fluorescence products. You will have technical expertise in several of the following key areas:
- Widefield/Deconvolution and Automated Light -Laser Confocal Microscopy
- Fluorescence imaging and Live Science imaging in 2D/3D and 4D
- Laser Optics, FRET, FRAP, TIRF, Photometry, and other advanced microscopy techniques
- Digital Classification and Image Analysis

You will also have a demonstrated track record of successfully selling against a quota and experience designing and developing sales channels. Demonstrated management experience hiring a direct sales force, selecting distributors and partners, interacting with customers, developing and delivering training and managing a sales funnel is essential.
With strong domain experience, you will have a working knowledge of competitive products (services, value propositions, price points).
Strategic business development skills are important, as are effective interpersonal communication and telephone sales skills.
