This boutique consulting firm is a recognized leader in market response modeling.  The Analytics Development group has an open, full-time position in the northern Chicago suburbs for an Optimization Specialist.  Will develop advanced marketing optimization models.  The ideal candidate must have proven experience developing large-scale nonlinear programming applications. 

Responsibilities:

• Research and develop marketing mix optimization models.
• Research and develop algorithms to solve large-scale nonlinear programming problems, including marketing mix optimization and constrained nonlinear, Bayesian regression.
• Document and present research findings.
• Lead marketing mix optimization consulting projects and present marketing plan recommendations to our clients.
• Prototype new optimization tools and serve as subject matter expert with our Applications Development group.

Requirements:

• Ph.D. in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent from top 10 OR/IE school
• Expertise in nonlinear programming models and algorithms as evidenced by at least 3 years of work experience or a Ph.D. thesis in mathematical optimization.
• Excellent skills using optimization tools (OPL, AMPL, Cplex), Microsoft Office and programming languages (VB, C/C++/C#, Java, SQL).
• Exceptional problem solving skills.
• Well-organized and capable of handling multiple mission-critical projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Experience with forecasting / simulation and/or statistical tools (SAS, S-plus, R) a plus.
• Experience in marketing mix optimization and/or Nielsen or IRI syndicated data is a plus.
