Description:

The Laboratory of Clinical and Translational Studies (LCTS) at the National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism NIAAA), a part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), is recruiting a postdoctoral fellow to conduct research in the Human Physiology and Pharmacokinetics Unit of the laboratory. The LCTS is located within the Mark O. Hatfield Clinical Research Center on the main NIH intramural campus in Bethesda, MD, an outstanding research environment. The research conducted by the Unit is focused on evaluating genetic and environmental factors influencing the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of alcohol in humans, as well as the development of human laboratory paradigms, utilizing intravenous alcohol challenges and self-administration methods, to screen novel potential medications for the treatment of alcoholism.

Candidates with a Ph.D. in clinical pharmacology, psychology, neuroscience, or related field, are encouraged to apply. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential. Salary will be set commensurate with experience and accomplishments.
