Job Description:
• You will help define and drive the Architecture of various Media Properties such as Real Estate, Kids, Weather and design extensible and reusable tools to power the next generation experience for consumers.

• You will be adept at both Front-end and Back-end technologies and architect /design websites to enable rapid innovation of fun and engaging products.

• Aspects of technology you will work with include XML, RDF, Web Services, OOAD, Database Design, API design, Performance Engineering, Security, Internationalization, Extreme Scalability, Processing Frameworks, Rich Media, Scalable distribution, etc.

• Your job will entail guiding & mentoring a development team with clean Architecture & sound design, and working with leads & Architects across geographies to insure interoperability and maximize reuse. A key success factor will be the ability to produce or consume platforms and tools with widespread reuse and impact.

• You will be expected to understand business needs and priorities of your unit and to cross-pollinate best practices, technologies and leverage/create common software platforms

• You will establish objectives and processes for organization wide technical activities

Basic Required Qualifications:
• MS/PhD in Computer Science or equivalent with 13+ years experience
• 6+ years experience with Large Scale Architectures
• Strong hands-on experience with Web technologies (CSS, Ajax, JS), Web standards & protocols, Languages (some of C / C++ / Java / Perl / Python / Ruby / PHP), Methodologies (OOD)
• Experience in Production Web systems characterized by high-end performance, reliability, availability, scalability, security
• Deep Expertise in one or more of these fields is mandatory: Databases / Networking / OS / Distributed Computing / Grid Computing / Web Services

• Ability to learn new topics quickly
• Self directed, highly motivated individual
• Contributions in external forums (conferences, publications, blogs, open source) a plus
