Job Title: Postdoctoral positions in the regulation of human mRNA transcription
Description:

We are seeking postdoctoral researchers in the field of human RNA polymerase II transcription to study regulation by either protein factors or non-coding RNAs. Specifically, we are studying how transcription is controlled in T cells when they respond to stimulation, using the IL-2 gene as a model. We would like to understand the contribution of specific protein-protein interactions to setting the level of transcription at the IL-2 promoter and across the genome in T cells. Our lab also studies transcriptional regulation by non-coding RNAs that bind directly to RNA polymerase II. We are interested in engineering non-coding RNAs to control transcription of classes of genes in T cells related to human diseases. The experimental approaches for both lines of research encompass biochemical experiments, mammalian cell culture, ChIP assays, and microarrays. Applicants with a strong background in one or more of these areas are preferred. Interested candidates should email a CV and contact information for three references to: Jim Goodrich Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry 215 UCB University of Colorado at Boulder Boulder, CO 80309-0215 (303)492-3273 james.goodrich@colorado.edu Group website: http://www.colorado.edu/chem/goodrichlab/
