Job Title: Retrovirus Models in Yeast, Dr. Henry Levin
Description:

Henry L. Levin, Ph.D. (Henry_Levin@nih.gov)

LTR-retrotransposons are close relatives of retroviruses that can be readily studied in model organisms such as yeast. We use molecular and genetic techniques to study the function of Tf1, a highly active retrotransposon of the fission yeast Schizosaccharomyces pombe. Current projects focus on the mechanisms of integration. Our Web page is http://eclipse.nichd.nih.gov/nichd/lgrd/sete/.
