Primary Function: Primary responsibility is to lead Clinical Chemistry product development and improvement project teams in a high growth environment. The technical lead will be expected to assess, plan and execute all product development and improvement related activities from feasibility through market introduction. Key objective will be to provide best in class in-vitro diagnostic calibrator products, new and improved. The technical lead will interface with multiple suppliers and cross-functional team leaders thus require very strong technical and communication skills. The ability to identify and successfully resolve complex technical issues quickly is critical for success. The technical lead must be able to function efficiently within the Quality System, particularly in full compliance to Design Control elements of the QSR to assure delivery of high quality products in a predictable manner.
Major Responsibilities:
-Demonstrate an in-depth working knowledge of the Quality System Regulation by the FDA.
-Promote a culture of Quality and Technical Excellence through daily actions and decisions, and leading by example.
-Implement continuous improvement / process optimization tools and techniques.
-Take responsibility for completeness and technical adequacy of all calibration / standardization activities for new and existing products.
-Individual must be able to critically evaluate data using various analytical and statistical methodologies.
-Integrate data from multiple sources and identify critical product / process variables.
-Manage delivery of multiple projects in a highly matrixed organization in a systematic and predictable manner.
-Proficient use of timeline tools for management of the project portfolio and critical chain activities is required.
-Communicate effectively across functions, OEM partners and the customer.
-Frequent status checks and updates to assure alignment of goals and priority.
-Facilitate conflict resolution and contingency planning to keep the continuous improvement projects on track.
-Ability to achieve program objectives while operating within budget.
Qualifications:
PhD in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry or Biochemistry with 6+ years of relevant industry experience and a successful record of achievement. This position will require a demonstrated complex product development or process design and project leadership experience.
