Job Title: Studies of the Molecular Basis for Angiogenesis and Hematopoiesis, Dr. Giovanna Tosato
Description:

The postdoctoral position is administratively located in one of the 5 sections in the Laboratory of Cellular Oncology of the Center for Cancer Research, NCI/NIH. The interests of this research group focus primarily in two areas: angiogenesis, particularly as it pertains to tumor angiogenesis and more specifically to herpes virus-associated malignancies; and hematopoiesis, particularly as it pertains to pre-neoplastic alterations. Our research has a basic laboratory-based component and a more applied component that spans experimentation with pre-clinical models in mice, and use of patient samples with conditions of interest. We are looking for enthusiastic candidates with expertise in molecular biology, biochemistry, and cell biology techniques; with knowledge in the fields of cancer biology, angiogenesis, and hematopoiesis; with excellent prior training; and with demonstrated productivity in research. Besides the PI, the research group currently includes a research assistant, a staff scientist, and five postdoctoral fellows. The laboratory is looking for a candidate to work on important research questions that have recently emerged from current ongoing studies.

This position is subject to a background investigation.

The NIH is dedicated to building a diverse community in its training and employment programs.
