Job Title: TGF-beta and Regulatory T Cells in Immune Tolerance, Dr. Wanjun Chen
Description:

Two postdoctoral fellow positions are available at the Mucosal Immunology Unit, NIDCR, NIH. The research effort of our group is to understand the cellular and molecular mechanism of TGF-beta regulation of T cell immunity and tolerance (J Exp Med, 2003, 198: 1875; Nat Immuno. 2008, 9:632-40; Nat Med 2008, 14:528-35).

Position one: to study the molecular pathways responsible for TGF-beta mediated induction of Foxp3 and/or IL-17. The ideal candidate would have a strong background in molecular biology and/or biochemistry. Experience in TGF-beta signal transduction and/or immunology is a plus.

Position two: to study T cell apoptosis, regulatory T cells, and TGF-beta in autoimmune diseases by developing and using conditional knockout mice. Individuals applying for this position should have a strong background in immunology and experience in working with conditional-knockout mice. Experience in animal models of autoimmunity and/or mucosal immunity is a plus.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D., M.D., Ph.D./M.D., and/or D.D.S. and be highly self-motivated and interested in our program.
