Matilda Zeigler Foundation funded postdoctoral position is available to investigate protein interactions and gene regulation underlying normal and diseased vertebrate photoreceptor architecture and function. The position, which is available immediately, will be part of an expanding research group that utilizes both in vitro and in vivo (transgenic mice & Xenopus) approaches to understand the fundamental biology, biochemistry, and molecular genetics of retinal photoreceptors and retinal degenerative diseases. The project will utilize a novel combination of genetic tagging, FACS purification, microarray analysis, fluorescence complementation, and a wide variety of molecular and cellular-level phenotyping approaches to investigate the etiology of inherited retinal diseases.
